With record bookings for the Fun Day and families due to travel from

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING 2010 Was held on Saturday
17th April
at Shrivenham Memorial Hall, Highworth
Road, Shrivenham, Nr Swindon SN6 8BL
A very good number of Members were present at the meeting, it was a beautiful warm
& sunny Spring morning which gave members the opportunity to socialise, catch up on news and walk their dogs on the Green
before and after the meeting.
Tea, coffee and biscuits were available to welcome Members and the
meeting started on time at 10:30am
As well as the normal AGM formalities the Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer
individually gave their reports to the Membership.
The most important item on the Agenda this year was the new
Club Rules, which had been circulated to all the Members for consideration well ahead of the meeting. After an introduction
by the Treasurer about the need for the new rules there was a short discussion and Members then voted unanimously to approve
them. The new Rules came into effect immediately as they had been pre-approved by the Kennel Club.
All items on the Agenda recevived a unanimous vote of approval by Members with the exception of the Minutes that had
just two abstentions.
The meeting closed at 10:58am
The Club would like to welcome Karlynne Sellstrome
as a new Committee Member and also to thank David Fletcher who was co-opted to the Committee during last year but was unable
to stand for election to the Committee this year.

Update – Tuesday 02 June
2009
A very happy ending to the story as ‘Poppy’ has
now just moved to her new loving home, is settling in well and feeling safe and secure as all dogs should.
Our sincere thanks go to her new family.
Thursday
21st May 2009
Alarm bells rang with the terrible & unprecedented news that a Podengo bitch had been found in a rescue
kennel in the south of England.
However, thanks to the immediate & efficient response by two Club members, Sue Brundle & Betty Judge,
the little bitch was identified as a Podengo, then collected, vet – checked, vaccinated & micro- chipped within
48 hours of the discovery. She is now being cosseted in very safe hands while the Club makes every attempt to re- unite her
with her owners.
She is fawn, wire- haired and approximately 18 months old and had been discovered in the Crawley area, sitting
by a pond, watching the birds. She had been in the rescue kennels for about two weeks before Sue was alerted to her predicament.
As she was not micro-chipped there was no way of tracking down her owners and there hadn’t been any evidence of her
owners trying to find her, though this cannot be said for certain. It is believed that she had been in another rescue kennel
prior to this, which is extremely worrying to say the very least.
Sue & Betty said the poor little bitch is very nervous & unhappy, which is hardly surprising in the
circumstances.
Please could everyone spread the word, especially those living in the south, so we can achieve a happy ending
as soon as possible for this little girl.
Betty will cover the story in the Breed Notes in Dog World & Our Dogs & the Club will also contact Dogs
Lost in case her owners have contacted them. Hopefully someone, if not her owners, may be able to shed some light on how one
of our precious Podengos has had the misfortune to end up in rescue kennels. Let us all hope that a situation like this will
never occur again & that hopefully her owners will come forward very soon.
Our thanks to Sue & Betty on a job well done, we know she is being loved
& well looked after.
